American version of the drama “The Crown” about the British royal family
What do we know about the Kennedy family? A series about the behind-the-scenes life of one of the most famous American dynasties will soon be released on Netflix, writes the media outlet Tudum.
The drama will explore the tragedies, rivalries and love stories of the Kennedy family. The first season, which will consist of eight episodes, will begin in the 1930s, when Joe Kennedy Sr. and his wife Rose are raising nine children and are already attracting public attention. Among the sons in the family is John, the future president of the United States.

Joe Kennedy Sr. will be played by two-time Academy Award nominee Michael Fassbender. Netflix will announce additional cast members at a later date.

The showrunner of the drama is Sam Shaw. He was inspired to create the series by Fredric Logevall's book JFK: Coming of Age in the American Century.
The premiere date on the streaming service is not yet known. According to Variety, for Netflix, this series is an American version of the project “The Crown” about the British royal family. In contrast, “The Kennedys” will trace the Kennedy family's rise to the top of US politics over several seasons.
As a reminder, Ryan Murphy is working on American Love Story, a series about John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. Their love story turned out to be tragic – first it began to crumble due to excessive tabloid attention, and then it ended with the crash of the private plane in which the couple was traveling, off the coast of Massachusetts.
