Lacey Chabert has taken the lead in many Hallmark holiday movies! She reveals how she prepped for 2 different starring roles this season!
Lacey Chabert can really do it all! She transforms from a dancing queen in A Christmas Waltz to a grieving daughter in a Time For Us To Come Home for Christmas in her two starring roles this holiday season on Hallmark. The actress spoke to HollywoodLife.com in an EXCLUSIVE interview, while also promoting her new partnership with DearFoams, which carry her comfy go-to holiday slippers!
“For Christmas Waltz I had to learn to dance so that was an exciting challenge. My character Avery is full of joy, so finding the heart of the scenes was a lot of fun,” Lacey told HL of her first Hallmark film of the season, which premiered on Nov. 28. “With the help of Roman (Will Kemp) she realizes that the unfortunate circumstance she find herself in doesn’t have to ruin Christmas. It was so much fun to work with Will Kemp again. We had a lot of fun in dance rehearsals and on set. It nice when you’ve worked with someone before because there’s trust and friendship.”

Then, for Time For Us To Come Home for Christmas, Lacey had the challenge of bringing hope and holiday spirit to a character in mourning. “My character is grieving but my job was to tell her story in a way that found the hope in all the nuances of the her journey. I love the thought that a simple act of kindness can change the trajectory of one’s life. As the story progresses we see how these strangers affect one another and come to realize that maybe they aren’t strangers after all,” she teased. The Blake Shelton-produced Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movie premiered on Dec. 5th and will play again on Thursday, Dec. 10th at 4 PM ET!
Lacey admitted that filming during COVID was different, but with all the safety precautions in place, she was grateful to get back to work. “There were many protocols to follow in order to protect everyone-masks, shields, social distancing, testing etc… I consider it a privilege to be a part of making these movies because I hope that they will bring some holiday cheer and joy to people’s homes,” she gushed.
One way the star advised everyone to enjoy their holidays at home was by getting into the Christmas spirit with DearFoams! “My family and I have been fans of DearFoams for so many years! Growing up we always got DearFoams slippers for Christmas. They are a part of our family tradition,” Lacey explained. “They are incredibly comfortable and the limited edition matching family collection is absolutely adorable! I’m gifting them to my family and friends so we can all match for the holidays.” She revealed that her 4-year-old is loving her ‘Lil Bear’ slippers this season that have little ears on them!
