Reimagining art in Barbie, UNO and Hot Wheels
Mattel is introducing a capsule collection inspired by works from the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). The line will feature iconic dolls and toys from the brand, according to Mattel's website.
The collection features seven products, each with a different interpretation of MoMA artwork, including a Barbie doll wearing a dress with a pattern of Vincent van Gogh's “Starry Night” and UNO cards featuring works by famous artists, including Sonia Delaunay and Henri Matisse.
The line includes two new Hot Wheels models inspired by the French Citroën DS 23 Sedan and the 1960s-style Jaguar E-Type Roadster. Other products include Salvador Dali and Claude Monet figures, as well as a Magic Eight Ball featuring an abstract by Alma Woodsey Thomas.
The capsule collection will be available for purchase starting November 11 on Mattel and MoMA websites, as well as in MoMA stores in New York and Japan.
