I rely on myself. A free financial literacy course is being launched for Ukrainian women

From the Projector Foundation and the Kredobank Foundation

The educational program for girls and women who want to build a healthy relationship with money will start in October and will last two months in an online format. The training will include webinars and mentoring sessions with the course curator, financial consultant Oksana Zhelezko.

“Today, financial freedom is a way to take care of yourself, your family, and your future. Especially in times of war, when economic pressure on women increases. Women are more likely to have unstable incomes, less access to financial education, and less confidence in negotiating salary.

“My mission is to help as many women in Ukraine as possible become financially independent. That's why I create financial literacy projects, and that's why this course appeared,” Oksana shares.

Women over 18 who earn their own money, seek to confidently manage their budget, and feel financially independent can take the course.

Registration lasts until September 24.

All lectures of the course will be available for viewing in the recording, to gain access to them, you need to fill out an application. Among the topics are the basics of budgeting, accumulating a financial cushion, loans, investment tools, charity in a personal budget, the psychology of money, etc. The course will be useful for those who want to build a healthier relationship with money more confidently, but do not know where to start and are afraid of not figuring it out on their own. A friendly community and mentorship from the curator will help lower this barrier and become the basis for financial confidence.

“Today, women are increasingly taking on key financial decisions, especially in times of war. The Kredobank Foundation, with over 30 years of experience, shares best practices to support them. For me, this project is not only about corporate responsibility, but also about a personal mission: to make financial tools accessible and understandable so that Ukrainian women can boldly plan their future and the future of their families,” says Solomiya Govorukha, CEO of the Kredobank Foundation, about the prerequisites for creating the course.

The “I Count on Myself” course is implemented in accordance with the strategy of the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine to reduce the gender pay gap. According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, before the full-scale Russian invasion, the pay gap between women and men was 18.6%.

“The role of women in the economy has changed during the full-scale invasion. We see a trend that women have increasingly started to create their own businesses and master new professions that could previously be considered purely male. Therefore, it is also important to have such projects to form financial skills and increase women's financial literacy, as this strengthens their capabilities in entrepreneurship and the labor market. We are currently preparing a new Labor Code, which, in particular, aims to modernize the legislation in the field of labor relations, change outdated discriminatory norms, and adapt the legislation to modern conditions of the employer market,” said Daria Marchak, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
