After it looked like Kanye West’s political ambitions were going to sink his marriage, HollywoodLife has EXCLUSIVELY learned how Ye got back into Kim Kardashian’s good graces.
For a moment, it looked like Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s marriage was going to be another casualty of 2020. A day after his unhinged “campaign rally” in South Carolina, Kanye, 43, went off on a Twitter rant that accused Kim, 40, and Kris Jenner of trying “lock him up.” Though it looked like Kim would have to use her growing legal knowledge to negotiate her own divorce, an insider tells HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY that she and Kanye are in a good spot right now. “Things have definitely improved between Kim and Kanye,” says the source, “and their relationship hits highs and lows like any marriage.”
How did Kim and Kanye get to this point of peace, even after he accused her of doing more than talking about “prison reform” with Meek Mill in 2018? “Kanye really stepped up for her birthday,” the insider tells HollywoodLife. Kim turned 40 on Oct. 21, and during the festivities, Ye “showed [Kim] the Kanye she fell in love with from the start. It was really the push they needed to get back to where they’ve always been. They’re on really good terms right now, and they love each other.”

Kanye really did go all out for Kim’s 40th. Online, he posted a throwback photo taken from his 2013 proposal. Kanye rented out San Francisco’s AT&T Park to the tune of an estimated $200,000. As a hired symphony played a rendition of Lana Del Rey’s “Young and Beautiful,” the Jumbotron read “PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!” It was a sweet memory to celebrate Kim’s birthday. “Been doing empty stadiums,” Kanye added with the throwback. “Happy 40th birthday!!! I love you so much.”
That, of course, is not the only thing Kanye did for Kim’s birthday. The technology-minded Kanye got Kim a hologram message from her late father, Robert Kardashian. Robert, who died from esophageal cancer in 2003 at age 59, was brought back to life to celebrate Kim’s special day. “Happy birthday, Kimberly. Look at you, you’re 40 and all grown up. You look beautiful, just like when you were a little girl. I watch over you and your sisters and your brother and the kids every day. Sometimes I drop hints that I’m around,” the hologram said.

“Hologram from heaven,” Kim wrote when sharing a video of the gift to her Instagram. “or my birthday, Kanye got me the most thoughtful gift of a lifetime. A special surprise from heaven. A hologram of my dad. It is so life-like, and we watched it over and over, filled with lots so tears and emotion. I can’t even describe what this meant to me and my sisters, my brother, my mom, and closest friends to experience together. Thank you so much, Kanye, for this memory that will last a lifetime.”
