WandaVision will officially premiere Jan. 15, 2021 on Disney+. The first season will consist of 6 episodes. Like The Mandalorian, WandaVision’s episodes will be released on a weekly basis rather than all at once. The show will be the first series in Phase Four of the MCU.

What Is ‘WandaVision’ About?
According to Disney+, WandaVision is a “blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision — two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.” During Disney Investor Day on Dec. 10, a new trailer was released that gave fans new footage of the highly-anticipated series.
‘WandaVision’ picks up after ‘Avengers: Endgame.’ (Disney+)
WandaVision picks up in the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame. Despite multiple trailers, there is still plenty of mystery surrounding the Disney+ series. The newest trailer showed Wanda watching the Mind Stone explode again. Remember, Wanda destroyed the Mind Stone, therefore killing Vision, during Infinity War.
The trailer also established that something is not quite right, even though Wanda and Vision are getting their happy ending. There’s something nefarious surrounding Wanda and Vision. They seem to be stuck in an alternate reality inspired by classic TV sitcoms. At one point in the trailer, someone asks, “Wanda, can you hear me? Who’s doing this to you?”
Someone is pulling Wanda’s strings. The show isn’t just set in an alternate reality. There will be a present timeline in the show, but how Vision is able to be there remains a mystery.
The Cast
Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany are returning as Wanda Maximoff and Vision. They will also be joined by Kathryn Hahn as Agnes, Teyonah Parris as a grown-up Monica Rambeau, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis from the Thor movies, and Randall Park as FBI agent Jimmy Woo from Ant-Man and the Wasp. There’s also a report that AHS vet Evan Peters will have a role in the series.
Who Is Evan Peters Playing?
Fans have been wondering about Evan’s involvement ever since Murphy’s Multiverse reported that Evan would have a “key role” in WandaVision. Marvel and Disney have yet to confirm if Evan is even a part of the series, but he is listed as part of the cast on IMDb.

Evan has a history with Wanda Maximoff. In FOX’s X-Men franchise, Evan starred as Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver, Wanda’s brother. The role was played in the MCU by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Quicksilver died in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
If he has been cast in WandaVision, Evan could be playing an entirely new character. Fans on social media speculated that Evan could be playing the role of Mephisto, a powerful villain in the Marvel universe.
How Does ‘WandaVision’ Connect To Wider MCU?
WandaVision will be the Marvel project to kick off Phase Four of the MCU. WandaVision is Marvel Studios’ first series that continues to expand the MCU. WandaVision will set up the Doctor Strange sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which will be released March 25, 2022. Elizabeth will also be starring in the new Doctor Strange movie.

This also means that WandaVision will connect to the untitled Spider-Man 3. Benedict Cumberbatch will be starring in the upcoming Spider-Man film as well, which will be released prior to Doctor Stranger 2 on Dec. 17, 2021.
WandaVision will be key to understanding the evolution of Phase Four. Teyonah’s Monica Rambeau will also star in Captain Marvel 2, which will be released on Nov. 11, 2022.
Is Vision Really Dead?
Vision died in Infinity War and was one of the characters unable to be resurrected in Endgame. Wanda is one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel universe as Scarlet Witch, so she could use her powers to recreate Vision in some way.
Or it could be more literal. Vision could be a “vision” in Wanda’s mind. Given that Elizabeth is going to be in the Doctor Strange sequel, WandaVision could be set in an alternate reality that’s part of the expanding Marvel multiverse.
