Ariana Grande turned 27 on Friday, and like a true Cancer, she celebrated with a beautiful birthday party that could only please the imagination of a sensitive soul. Her boyfriend, Dalton Gomez, with whom she went Instagram official yesterday, and her close friends threw her a birthday party with a surprise Midsommar (2019) theme. Grande shared snaps from her party, which she hosted for a few friends and family on Friday night.

This part of the theme didn’t exactly have anything to do with a horror film about a Swedish summer festival gone wrong, but it’s just as thoughtful. Grande’s friends apparently surprised her by lining her hallways with these black-and-white photos of her dogs.

Although yesterday was the first time we saw Gomez on Grande’s Instagram, the two confirmed their relationship in May in Gomez’s music video “Stuck With You.”
At the end of May, a source told Entertainment Tonight that there’s a reason why Grande has kept this relationship quiet, compared to those she’s had in the past.
“Ariana has had some hesitation being so public about her relationship with Dalton as she’s seen how that has worn on her past relationships [like with Pete Davidson and Mac Miller],” the source said.
The source added that the two have been in quarantine together and it “has been a great opportunity for them to spend quality time together.”
