The pair have been parents to a boy since 2024.
Vocalist Sia is separating from her spouse, who is requesting $250,000 each month in spousal support, CNN indicates.
Sia tied the knot with Daniel Bernard in 2022, and they welcomed a son in 2024. Nevertheless, due to “unresolvable disagreements,” the duo is currently going through a separation, based on papers submitted by the artist in a Los Angeles courtroom. Sia also requested that she be given complete legal and physical guardianship of their son, while still permitting Bernard access to see the child.
However, the singer’s spouse has sought support for their child, asserting he lacks a revenue stream because he departed from his occupation as a radiation therapist. In 2022, he established a healthcare facility with the singer, but Sia ceased providing finances to the venture.
Bernard also needs further disbursements – $300,000 to address juridical expenses and $200,000 for an assessment of monetary records.
Sia was the primary provider in the family, and it appears that her husband is entirely unwilling to relinquish their lavish lifestyle.
“We never tallied funds,” Daniel pointed out.
Throughout their marital union, the twosome resided in a 9,500-square-foot residence in Los Angeles, where they engaged 10 to 12 workers — counting two individual cooks and massage therapists. Daniel and Sia also journeyed predominantly via personal aircraft. The BBC observes that the two spent upwards of $400,000 monthly.
