Lady Gaga Wears Pink Crop Top, Short Shorts, and Platform Boots in New York City

Count on Lady Gaga to not let the coronavirus pandemic stop her from having major street style moments. The Chromatica singer was photographed shopping with her mother at Sephora on New York City’s Upper West Side yesterday. Gaga exited the store carrying a bag of goods and wearing a full-fledged look. The singer paired a pink hoodie crop top and pink short shorts with a long patent jacket and sky-high black platform boots. She of course wore a mask, as is mandated in New York City.

Gaga herself called masks “a sign of respect” during the MTV VMAs, as they reduce the risk of you spreading COVID-19 to other people—and them to you, if they wear masks as well.

Gaga recently did an intimate CBS News interview that aired this weekend in which she spoke about times where she hated fame and struggled with depression. “I just totally gave up on myself,” Gaga said. “I hated being famous. I hated being a star. I felt exhausted and used up.”

She detailed the things she used to tell herself, saying feeling objectified ate at her: “You can’t go to the grocery store now. If you go to dinner with your family, somebody comes to the table, you can’t have a dinner with your family without it being about you. It’s always about you. All the time it’s about you. And your outfits. Look at your outfits!”

She was asked why she didn’t just give up being a pop star. “I don’t know why, but I have to. This, I have to do it. Singing, I have to,” she said. “Turns out, even if I don’t wanna be alive, I still know how to write a song!”

Over time, Gaga worked on her mental health with the support of family and friends. Now, she said, she’s doing better physically and mentally.

“I don’t hate Lady Gaga anymore,” she told CBS News. “I found a way to love myself again, even when I thought that was never gonna happen. Now, I look at this piano and I go, Oh, my God. My piano! My piano that I love so much! My piano that lets me speak. My piano that lets me make poetry. My piano, that’s mine!”
