Jennifer Lopez’s unique holiday theme was all about her first Christmas as Mrs. Affleck.
In her latest edition of her On The J.Lo newsletter, the superstar opened up about the extravagant party she and her husband hosted at their Hollywood home. For the weekend before Christmas, the Afflecks welcomed a star-studded guest list to their ornately-decorated home, which the "Waiting For Tonight" singer centered around a hummingbird theme.
"I like to create a theme for every holiday," the multi-hyphenate wrote, before explaining the significance of her theme. "I wrote a song called Hummingbird for my new album, This Is Me … Now. To me, hummingbirds are messengers of love. They’re very agile—can fly forward, backward, and up and down. They’re also the fastest bird but they always have time to stop, eat something sweet and smell the roses. I identify with them, but more than anything, whenever I see one, I feel like it’s a sign from God that everything is going to be OK."
"So, I decided this year that the hummingbird would be a perfect theme," she continued. "We have blended families, doubled the people, doubled the fun, doubled the love, doubled the presents and tripled the chaos!!"
The star also shared a peek at her look for the festive evening, which was comprised of a stunning metallic gown by Gucci, decorated with gold, silver, and green hummingbirds. The piece included a mock neck, a cinched waist, and long puffed sleeves with distinct cuffs. She accessorized the glamorous dress with chandelier earrings, and wore her hair in a curled ponytail.
"I also picked hummingbird colors for my holiday party dress this year. It’s a Gucci dress that I’ve had in my closet which I bought a year ago and I’ve been waiting for the perfect occasion to wear. I thought it was perfect for our Hummingbird Christmas Party," she wrote.

The Hustlers actor also shared several pics of her home decor, including her on-theme tree. "I wanted to have a tree in the house that was a hummingbird tree, reminding us that everything done in love and with love will always be OK," she wrote.
In one pic, which she also shared on Instagram, the star poses next to her tree in a festive collared dress printed with red bows on a turquoise-blue background. She paired the dress with sparkly red platform heels and a pair of large white-and-gold floral earrings. As for her beauty look, the star slicked her hair back and wore a dark red lip.

The JLo Beauty founder also shared that she and her blended family were able to return to a pre-pandemic holiday tradition.
"For the past 8 years we’ve been doing a Christmas Edition Taco Tuesday, where we get together and dress up and sing Christmas carols," she wrote. "During the pandemic that went to the wayside, so this was the first time in a long time we were able to get together with people that we haven’t seen in forever. The party was filled with family, friends, colleagues, and people we’ve known from over the years. We sang and danced and had the most amazing time!"
