Experts note the princess's prudence and poise
Kate Middleton is constantly under the scrutiny of the public. Her every move is captured on camera by palace photographers, journalists, or just people with smartphones in their hands. How does she cope with so much attention?
Prince Philip, husband of Queen Elizabeth II, once gave advice to Kate Middleton — and, as Vanity Fair writes, influenced the royal family's approach to publicity.
“If you think all the attention is on you personally, you're going to have problems. The focus is on what you do, what you support, what you represent. It's not on you as an individual. You're not a celebrity. You represent the royal family, that's all,” Prince Philip stressed.
Thanks to this advice, Kate Middleton developed proper media etiquette — in particular, never looking directly into the camera and always focusing on the person you're talking to, despite the recorders around.
The princess is now perhaps the most popular member of the British royal family. Some experts even point out the similarities between her behavior and that of Prince Philip.
“Kate shines in her own light, but she knows her place in the royal family very well. She never tries to overshadow her husband. I think Kate is somewhat similar to Prince Philip, who always supported Queen Elizabeth II,” royal biographer Penny Junor noted for the Daily Mail.
As a reminder, we reported that Kate Middleton visited the V&A East Storehouse, one of the Victoria and Albert Museums in London, where she selected exhibits for her own curatorial project.
