The Italian producer of initial packaging answers for beauty products has presented a refillable container constructed from reclaimed glass and entirely compostable bioplastic.
Designated Deluxe, the new 50 ml refillable container created by Lumson is composed of post-consumer recycled glass (PCR) . Its plastic dish, cap, and rechargeable internal container are fashioned from ReKrill Uva, a TÜV-validated compostable bioplastic [1].
Furthermore, an embedded NFC chip permits shoppers to enter a specialized brand platform intended to bolster rewards schemes, promote packaging re-employment or reprocessing, and stimulate other kinds of user involvement.
The novelty is part of a wider, publicly financed initiative termed Memora influenced by the perception of recovering what would otherwise be discarded. For its creation, Lumson associated with the enterprise Krill Design and cooperated researchers from the Politecnico di Milano.
