Everything you need to know about Bazaar Summer Reading
Harper's Bazaar gathered friends, readers, and partners at the Prague restaurant for Harper's Bazaar's traditional summer event, “Summer Readings.”
Bazaar Summer Reading is a Harper's Bazaar project that gives guests a unique opportunity to enjoy the texts of both famous and very young Ukrainian writers.
Harper's Bazaar's Summer Readings are a great opportunity for book lovers to immerse themselves in the world of literature, find like-minded people, and learn more about current literary trends. It's an event where culture, intellect, and style come together to create an unforgettable experience for all participants. It's a day dedicated to books, inspiration, and intellectual enrichment.
Bazaar Summer Reading was visited by Yulia Yermolaeva, Olga Shteyn, Iryna Maksimova, Martelle, Sonya Plakydiuk and other representatives of the art and fashion industries.
At the event, invited authors Irena Karpa, Oksana Shavarska, Anna Lodygina, and writer Andriy Lyubka read their works.
Screenwriter and author Oksana Shavarska recited stories from her first book, “8000 Miles of Solitude.” Irena Karpa — writer, writing teacher, singer of the band “Faktychno Sami,” and Ukraine’s advocate in the French media during the full-scale invasion — read excerpts from her novel “He Returns on Sunday,” which will be released in the fall. Andriy Lyubka — writer and volunteer, vice president of Ukrainian PEN — introduced the guests to excerpts from the book “Something’s Wrong with Me.” And finally, journalist and researcher of Ukrainian culture, author of the documentary “Serhiy Lifar. The Artist’s Case,” Anna Lodygina shared an excerpt from her book “Stories of Ukrainian Artists. Oleksandra Ekster.”
This summer evening, in the corner of the beauty partner ARTDECO, guests had the opportunity to do a flash make-up and get acquainted with the new make-up collection. As well as listen to this summer's new fragrance – BURBERRY GODDESS PARFUM, which embodies the strength, elegance and sensuality of a modern woman. Three signature vanilla accords create a deep, rich composition that combines sophistication and warmth.
The Answear Fashion Moment activity was organized in the corner of the fashion partner Answear.ua, where everyone could become the heroine of a luxurious 360° video.
Guests of the event were treated to exquisite treats from the chef of the Prague restaurant, as well as a pleasant atmosphere and relaxed communication over a glass of Italian sparkling wine Serena 1881. The Kyiv floristic space “Wild Flower Shop” was responsible for the floral design of the event.
An important component of the event was Harper's Bazaar Ukraine's support for writer Andriy Lyubka's charitable collection for cars for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Andriy Lyubka has been involved in the volunteer movement. He raises funds, buys jeeps and pickup trucks abroad, organizes their repair and training, and then, together with his team, takes them to the front. During this time, Andriy's team has purchased over 375 cars and made 62 volunteer trips to the east. For his activities, Lyubka was awarded an order from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a distinction from the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
Guests had the opportunity to join the project by making a charitable contribution during the event for one of the urgent needs, namely, a pickup truck for the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade, which is fighting in the Zaporizhia direction.
Among all those who made a donation, prizes were raffled off: gift-format books about the modern creative culture of Ukraine from Creative Publishing, autographed books by guest authors Irena Karpa, Oksana Shavarska, Anna Lodygina, and writer Andriy Lyubka, collectible books from Answear.ua, cosmetic sets from the German brand ARTDECO, and Burberry Goddess Parfum fragrances.
