Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s entertainment career has spanned from Race to Witch Mountain to a movie called The Tooth Fairy, in which he played the titular role. He also voices a god in Moana. But wrestling is where Johnson got his start and claim to fame. Now, his oldest daughter, 18-year-old Simone, has become the youngest person in the history of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) to sign with the company.
On Friday, Johnson told Jimmy Fallon in an interview that his daughter is “the youngest signee in the history of the company” and has been training in the ring since she was 16 years old. He added that Simone had to endure the challenges that any new wrestler faces when learning: “She’s 18 now, at 16 she was working her ass off quietly under the radar, in the ring getting thrown around, you know, all the bumps and bruises that go with pro wrestling,” he told Fallon. “But she hung in there, and I’m very, very proud of her.”

On February 10, WWE announced that Simone had officially signed with them and started training at its Performance Center in Florida. “Not only does Simone now have an opportunity to cultivate and display her passion for WWE within the Performance Center, but she’ll carry on the tradition of her incredible family lineage while creating her own impact as WWE’s first fourth generation Superstar,” Levesque said in a statement then.
You might recognize The Rock’s oldest daughter from the 2018 Golden Globes, when she served as the first “Golden Globes Ambassador,” previously referred to as “Mr. or Miss Golden Globe.” Since 1962, this person, the child of an actor or actress in Hollywood, has the job of assisting Globe winners onstage and helping the ceremony run smoothly.
It seems like Simone’s assistant days are over now; she’s going to be the leading lady of her own wrestling ring.
