The Italian producer of core packaging options for beauty products has presented a trial initiative for a reusable container crafted from recovered glass and completely compostable bioplastic.
Named Deluxe, Lumson’s 50 ml refillable jar idea blends post-consumer recycled glass (PCR) with a base, lid, and replaceable interior cup fashioned from ReKrill Uva, a TÜV-accredited biodegradable bioplastic [1].
Furthermore, an embedded NFC microchip would provide clients with entry to a specific brand platform created to bolster loyalty schemes, promote pack repurposing or reprocessing, and cultivate additional kinds of client interaction.
This pioneering experimental pack is a segment of a wider, publicly financed venture called Memora motivated by the concept of recovering materials typically discarded. Lumson teamed up with the emerging company Krill Design and worked with researchers from the Politecnico di Milano for its design.
