Following the dazzling Vogue World presentations in New York, London, Paris, and Los Angeles, the spotlight shifts to Milan. It is there that the fifth iteration of this initiative will unfold on September 22, 2026.
The date is no coincidence. Milan Fashion Week will commence with the Vogue World: Milano event. This time, Vogue aspires to do more than simply showcase collections; it seeks to narrate the story of Italy – a nation where fashion, artistry, and culture are inherently intertwined. The core concept of the show is to serve as a reminder that behind each technological advancement, every form of artificial intelligence, or digital revolution, there is invariably an individual with their unique talent, insight, and appreciation for beauty.
“Milan has consistently been a city where heritage and progress converge,” states Anna Wintour, chief content officer of Condé Nast and global editorial director of Vogue. “They possess the skill to transform artisanship into modern art, and to render the contemporary timeless. Hosting Vogue World in Milan is a gesture of recognition towards the individuals who enable this industry.”
The event is being brought to life through a partnership with the Milan city administration – Mayor Giuseppe Sala and Deputy Mayor for Culture Tommaso Sacchi. The purpose of this collaboration is to illustrate the magnitude of Italy’s cultural impact on the globe, champion its creatives, and underscore the country’s prominent standing in the fashion realm. “We are honored that Vogue World 2026 will occur here. I extend my gratitude to the Vogue team, and especially to Anna Wintour, for their confidence in our city. We will exert every effort to ensure that each visitor experiences the genuine hospitality of Milan,” says Giuseppe Sala. “Fashion is intrinsic to everyday life in Milan. It resonates in the architecture, the design, and the mindset. It is in this city that the notion of Made in Italy originated – as a byword for quality, elegance, and craftsmanship. Vogue World: Milano will epitomize this – a city where tradition, history, and modernity naturally harmonise within fashion.”
From its inception, each Vogue World occasion has commemorated the culture and individuality of the host city. The show’s structure has been reinvented with each iteration, yet the primary objective remains constant: to bolster significant social endeavors. Since its beginning, Vogue World has amassed over $7 million for charitable causes that assist creative and educational communities worldwide. In 2026, the capital secured will be allocated to supporting Milanese initiatives linked to the fashion industry, design, and the city’s cultural legacy. A dedicated board comprising local establishments will decide which entities will benefit from this aid.
Vogue World initially occurred in New York in 2022. It was a lively street exhibition that contributed to revitalizing Fashion Week following the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023, the London event was transformed into a theatrical performance in aid of the performing arts. In 2024, in Paris, Vogue World dedicated its show to the theme of fashion and athletics, celebrating their historical link in anticipation of the Olympic Games. The most recent show took place in autumn 2025 in Hollywood. Vogue devoted it to the connection between fashion and cinema.
In 2026, Vogue World will be staged in Milan. The Italian fashion metropolis will imbue the event with its distinctive atmosphere and aesthetic. “Milan is a place where fashion is lived every day. Here, it is not merely preserved but actively shaped – thanks to individuals for whom talent and manual skills have become a vocation,” emphasises Francesca Ragazzi, editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia. “This encapsulates the essence of Made in Italy – in the fusion of boldness, intuition, and artistry. And this assumes a unique significance today, as fashion learns to coexist with technology.”
