Unprecedented approach to the game
The uniqueness of the film lies in the extremely natural cast of actors. This is where the unique approach of director Derek Cianfrance is manifested: on a significant stage, he constantly balances between rehearsal and rehearsal, often miring cameras during the hour of preparation, not ahead of the actors. “Sometimes it’s not like we’re already in rehearsal,” says Kirsten Dunst. — “It’s not entirely smooth sailing, but someone might have a gesture or something to say about the character. It’s even worse.”
In order to achieve greater authenticity, during the filming season the actors lived together in apartments rented for the project: they cooked, slept, and spent time in their homeland. “The stinks were made by the original everyday speeches, which helped to make their hundreds appear on the screen,” says the director.
About decorations
A significant part of this film is taking place in the Toys “R” Us store where Jeffrey is alive. The company has already begun operations, and the United States has not lost any of its stores. The real deposit at the last meeting of Charlotte, where similar stories were made, was later transferred to the church. For this purpose, the team decided to find a new toy store near Pineville and create a new space on its basis, which would become the backdrop of the film.
