At long last, the fourth Vogue World spectacle, celebrating the bond between fashion and movies, unfolded. On October 26, Paramount Studios morphed into a fashion runway, with Hollywood icon Nicole Kidman inaugurating the show. Donning a black Chanel gown, she graced the stage, engaging with the spectators and adhering to the guidance of director Baz Luhrmann, reminiscent of a film set collaboration. It was a truly impactful commencement to a grand affair.
Mirroring prior presentations in New York, London and Paris, Vogue World: Hollywood served as an homage to its hosting metropolis. Curated by Alex Harrington, this year's occurrence spotlighted the inseparable connection uniting fashion and cinema, showcasing the most prominent costume creators of the preceding half-century.
“This presentation resembles a dialog that we, in our capacity as costume architects, comprehend intimately upon witnessing the evolution of culture surrounding a given motion picture. We all recognize narratives such as Annie Hall or Star Wars that have shaped not only our sartorial preferences but also our modes of contemplation,” articulated the concept of Vogue World: Hollywood Arianna Phillips, the mastermind behind the visual identities of the central protagonists in flicks like Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Kingsman and WE.
The display comprised seven thematic segments, each paying tribute to a pivotal juncture in cinematic chronology — spanning from traditional Hollywood allure to the sway of the film “Dune.” Let’s survey all the runway aesthetics from Vogue World: Hollywood.
