Emerging faces of the fashion world — models and sportspeople, artists, authors and musicians: Vogue Ukraine’s autumn edition has brought together representatives of Ukraine’s youthful generation of talents.
“It explores the aptitude for mirroring reality – the latest edition features, as its core piece, a grand shoot by Stepan Lisovsky entitled “How We See, How We Live”. The 29-year-old photographer hailing from Chernivtsi has crafted several of Ukrainian Vogue’s most noteworthy projects. He captured images of the stellar Paralympic team of Ukraine (November 2021) and the pivotal series “Visible”, which shone a spotlight on individuals with amputations (autumn 2023). Upon invitation from the editorial staff, Lisovsky spent five days in wartime Kyiv, creating portraits of Ukrainian youths – fledgling models, athletes (19-year-old Yegor Yakushenko, who secured the title of junior world champion in Greco-Roman wrestling this September), writers (32-year-old Anna Lodygina, who has penned a fresh book regarding the pioneer of the European avant-garde, artist Alexandra Ekster) and musicians (16-year-old violinist Pavlo Ulyanchenko, who performs with “(by the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine),” as noted by Ukrainian Vogue’s editor-in-chief, Venya Brykalin.
