Eva Mendes explained the reason why she hasn’t and won’t be sharing photos of her daughters with Ryan Gosling anytime soon. The actress wrote on Instagram that there will be no photos of her little girls on social media until they are old enough to give their mother permission to post them.
Mendes and Gosling have two daughters: Esmeralda, who’s five, and Amada, who’s three (almost four, according to Mendes). Mendes shared a picture that one of her daughters drew of her and responded to a commenter who asked why she wouldn’t share photos of the girls or Gosling.
“Hi! I have always had a clear boundary when it comes to my man and my kids,” Mendes wrote back, via E!. “I’ll talk about them of course, with limits, but I won’t post pictures of our daily life. And since my children are still so little and don’t understand what posting their image really means, I don’t have their consent. And I won’t post their image until they’re old enough to give me consent.”
She also explained that with her and Gosling’s relationship, “As far as Ryan and I, it just works for us this way, To stay private. Sending loads of love to you at this time.”
She did confirm to another commenter that Gosling has been helping a lot as the family has been quarantining. “My man helps so much!” she said. “But yes I’m still going crazzzzy!!!!!!!”
