Kacey Musgraves’ heart may be taken again—and she’s not hiding it. The country singer, who settled her divorce from Ruston Kelly in September, shared a cuddly selfie of herself with Nashville-based Dr. Gerald Onuoha on Monday. The Instagram acknowledgement came the same day Page Six published paparazzi photos of Musgraves and Onuoha hugging in Los Angeles while waiting for an Uber on Sunday. Page Six called Onuoha Musgraves’ “rumored new boyfriend.” Musgraves has not addressed the dating rumors at this point.
So who is Onuoha exactly? Here’s what’s known so far.
Onuoha is a Nashville-based doctor.
Onuoha works at Nashville’s HCA Healthcare in internal medicine, according to his LinkedIn site. He studied at Tennessee State University, then went to Meharry Medical College. He later got his masters at Dartmouth College.
Onuoha has an active Instagram and Twitter presence, and Musgraves has been liking his Instagrams since February.
As Onuoha describes himself in his Instagram bio, he is “Nashville Living. God fearing. Nigerian American. Healer. Astronomer. DReam chaser. Activist. Nupe.”
He posts regularly on his Instagram, largely as an anti-racism activist to educate others.

Onuoha also posted a photo of Beyoncé and Jay-Z on March 16, writing, “Find somebody you can show up late with, get the award with, leave the show early with, and call it a great night with.” Musgraves liked that post. Musgraves, for what it’s worth, follows Onuoha on Instagram and has been liking his posts regularly since Feb. 15.
Onuoha runs Everybody Versus Racism, an anti-racism organization.
Onuoha is the founder of Everybody Versus Racism. The organization’s mission statement on its site reads: “Everybody vs. Racism is a movement to Eradicate Racism. In partnership with everybody including communities, organizations, the private and public sector; we want to create, support, and collaborate to provide services and programs that help eliminate systemic racism for all, regardless of their race, creed, or color.” Musgraves follows the organization’s Instagram, which has more than 11,000 followers.
Onuoha has posted online about seeking healthy relationships and preferring to keep romantic relationships private.
At the beginning of 2021, Onuoha shared an Instagram about seeking only healthy relationships. “Only healthy friendships, familyships, relationships, and marriages in 2021. We’re getting rid of everything else.”

But he made his stance known on dating publicly in February. On Feb. 9, he posted on his Twitter and Instagram, “Date in Private. Love in Private. Be Happy in Private,” adding in his Instagram caption, “The only business to mind is your own.” On Valentine’s Day, he added, “There’s No Better Feeling Than Being Properly Loved.”

Neither Onuoha, Musgraves, nor her rep have commented on rumors the two are dating.
In the hours after Musgraves posted her second selfie with Onuoha, many outlets, including People and E!, reported on dating rumors. But neither Musgraves nor her rep have outright confirmed or denied them. Onuoha hasn’t commented, either. Both Page Six and People reached out to Musgraves’ rep, who didn’t immediately respond to their request for comment on the story. Only time will tell what Onuoha and Musgraves’ connection ends up being—and how private they ultimately keep it.
