Selena Gomez is back out there dating here and there, E! and Entertainment Tonight confirmed after the singer was seen out with NBA player Jimmy Butler multiple times last month. But she is still very much single and not rushing into anything, ET’s source said in a report published this week. The source added that Gomez has a specific idea of the kind of guy she wants to date, too.
“The qualities that stand out to her in terms of a potential boyfriend are confident, supportive, smart, funny, trustworthy, and reliable,” the outlet’s source said.
ET’s source confirmed that yes, Butler is still a contender for that role, but he’s no lock-in. “Selena has enjoyed hanging out with Jimmy, but she is keeping her options open in terms of guys,” the source said. “She is comfortable dating, but also comfortable being single. She’s not rushing into anything whatsoever.”
“Selena is focusing on what makes her happy and what feels good to her—whether that’s a relationship or not,” the source finished.
ET’s report echoes what E! was told on December 1 about Gomez’s love life. E!’s source said that Butler and Gomez had gone on a “few” dates at that point.
“[She is] keeping her options open but has been on a few dates with Jimmy and thinks he’s a great guy,” the source said. “They hung out a few times while Selena was in New York City. Jimmy asked her to go to dinner and they had a great time. It’s very casual and she’s open to seeing where things go, but isn’t settling down just yet.”
Generally, “[she] is currently single but has recently been more open to dating.”
Gomez is currently in New York City, shooting her upcoming Hulu comedy Only Murders in the Building.
