Rihanna and A$AP Rocky aren’t the type of celebrity couple to regularly do pap strolls, but the two gave Los Angeles paparazzi a rare treat last night when they were photographed leaving dinner at Delilah together. Both wore leather: A$AP in a black leather jacket and pants, Rihanna in a brown leather coat.
Rihanna and A$AP are longtime friends who were first reported to be dating in December 2020, although Us Weekly reported their relationship actually started in summer 2020.
“A$AP has been very into Rihanna for years,” a source told the outlet in early December, describing him as “‘always the instigator’ in their flirtatious connection.” Rihanna “would brush off his advances and kept him in the friend zone” up until last summer. As the outlet’s source put it, “Things changed over the summer and they finally hooked up. They’ve been together ever since.”
The two have never given an exact timeline of when their relationship began. They were photographed kissing at the end of December while in Barbados together for the holidays. Rihanna invited A$AP to spend the time with her and her family.
“Spending Christmas together was an obvious step for Rihanna and A$AP,” a source told Entertainment Tonight at the time. “They’ve known each other for so long as friends and in a work setting, which makes it so easy for them to get along, travel together and be involved in each other’s lives to the full extent. They always have such a good time together and definitely seem in love.”
