Lady Gaga hasn’t dropped new music yet this year, but she did share an intimate look at herself out in the wild, living her best life and getting sushi on her Instagram. The singer appears makeup free in the shot, with her pink hair in a half-bun, and her brows bleached. “Sushi!!!!! 🍣💕🧚♀️🤗#2020,” Gaga captioned the shot. Over 1 million people have liked it:
The bleached brows really change her look, as you can see when you compare it to another selfie she took in December when her eyebrows were dark:
Gaga’s sushi shot comes shortly after the singer confirmed her new relationship with her investor boyfriend Michael Polansky. The two were seen kissing in Miami during Super Bowl weekend. Gaga posted a cuddly shot of them in the city, writing, “We had so much fun in Miami. Love to all my little monsters and fans, you’re the best! ❤️”
People reported that Polansky and Gaga met through friends. And a source told E! that the romance is a relatively new development. Gaga “has been dating the same guy for over a month,” a source told the outlet earlier this month. “They’ve been seeing other since before the holidays and she’s crazy about him….they had already been seeing each other for weeks.”
Gaga hasn’t done any big interviews in 2020 yet—and none where she has talked about their relationship. But she talked to Oprah Winfrey in her ELLE November 2019 interview about her relationship with her fans and how they made her realize kindness heals all things.
“I think it [my stance on kindness’ healing power] really started with my relationship with my fans,” she started. “Looking out into the audience and seeing so many people who were like me, people who felt different, who didn’t feel seen or understood. And then also seeing a lot of kids who felt afraid to be open about who they were, it became sort of an existential experience for me, where I thought about what it means to be an individual—I wanted to fight for those individuals. I actually said this the other day on social media. I said, ‘I didn’t do this for fame, I did it for impact.’ And that’s the truth. I recognized very early on that my impact was to help liberate people through kindness. I mean, I think it’s the most powerful thing in the world, particularly in the space of mental illness. “
