Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and Archie Called the Queen for Her 94th Birthday

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry no longer have a royal Instagram to share a birthday tribute to the Queen, but they did go out of their way to wish Queen Elizabeth II a happy 94th today. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s spokesperson confirmed to Hello! and Entertainment Tonight that Meghan, Harry, and their nearly-one-year-old son Archie video-chatted the Queen today from Los Angeles to celebrate the big day. The Queen is based in Windsor Castle right now, where she is quarantining with her husband Prince Philip. That’s an eight-hour time difference to work with.

ET notes that any further details about the call (and any others of the Queen has had with family members while in quarantine) will remain private, as the conversation was a family affair and not official business.

This is far from Archie’s first video call. E! reported last month that Meghan and Harry’s son adores talking and playing with other kids on FaceTime. Archie has been “loving doing FaceTime playdates with other small children they have in their lives,” the outlet’s source said.

Meghan, Harry, and Archie have been in quarantine in their new California home. Harry and Meghan have left to volunteer with Project Angel Food though. The Duke and Duchess have helped deliver meals to those in need in the city. They were photographed out on Friday volunteering, wearing masks, and holding hands.

Meghan and Harry shared an intimate tribute to the Queen last year on their now inactive SussexRoyal Instagram. They wrote, “Happy Birthday Your Majesty, Ma’am, Granny. Wishing you the most wonderful day! 🎈Harry & Meghan.”
