Liu Yifei Wears Black Gown for Mulan’s London Premiere – Mulan Release Delayed

Mulan star Yifei Liu stepped out in her second Disney princess-worthy gown last night—and her last for the foreseeable future, as Mulan’s release has been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Liu attended the London premiere in a sheer corseted black gown. She wore her hair up in a bun, embellished with pearls, and went for more dramatic makeup, opting for a red lip and cat-eye.

The London premiere look came just days after Liu wore a giant gold Elie Saab gown at the film’s world premiere in Los Angeles. She wrote on her Instagram the dress was so big, she had to travel by party bus to fit it:

It also comes shortly before Mulan director Niki Caro announced the film’s release would be delayed. Initially, Mulan was supposed to come out March 27, 2020. Liu reposted the Instagram message Caro shared, adding a heart emoji.

Caro wrote:

Dear Mulan Fans,Making this film has been one of the most satisfying and exhilarating experiences of my entire career, and I’ve been so fortunate to be on this journey with some of the best cast and crew in the business–people who truly embody the attributes of Loyal, Brave, and True. We are so excited to share this film with the world, but given the current ever-shifting circumstances we are all experiencing, unfortunately, we have to postpone the worldwide release of MULAN for now. Our hearts are with everyone the world over who is affected by this virus, and we hope that Mulan’s fighting spirit will continue to inspire those who are working so hard to keep us all safe. Thank you for all of your enthusiasm and support, and I can’t wait for the day where we will all get to experience this tale of a girl warrior who became a legend together #mulan #yifei_cc #loyalbravetrueWith love,Niki Caro
