How Kate Middleton and Prince William Are Celebrating Their Anniversary in 2020

Nine years ago, Kate Middleton married Prince William in Westminster Abbey. Today, they’re celebrating their ninth wedding anniversary far from the hustle and bustle of London, in their country home, Anmer Hall, in Norfolk. The couple will mark the occasion there quietly and privately with their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

While the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge usually celebrate their anniversary in private, this year is exceptionally limiting on what they—and any couple in England—can do because of the coronavirus pandemic. Kate and William have been quarantining in their Norfolk home for the past couple weeks. They’ve been working and caring for their children, along with working together to home-school them.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge did post about their anniversary on their Kensington Palace Instagram earlier today. They shared a photo from their wedding and thanked their fans for all the well wishes. “🎊 Nine years ago today–thank you for all your lovely messages on The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding anniversary!” their team captioned the photo.

The couple has been sharing more personal photos on their Instagram lately as they quarantine. They shared a rare video of their three children applauding for the UK’s National Health Service workers back in March:

In the weeks since, they’ve shared multiple shots of their son Prince Louis, who celebrated his second birthday on April 23. Kate took the photos of Louis this month at Anmer Hall:

The family also appeared together in BBC’s Together at Home special. They applauded for caretakers outside the door of their home. Charlotte, George, and Louis matched their parents in blue outfits.
