Gigi Hadid is due to give birth to her first baby with her boyfriend Zayn Malik in September, just days away. And E! got an extensive update from a source about how the couple are spending the last stretch of her pregnancy. They’re in New York City now, the outlet reports, where Gigi intends to give birth. (The couple was photographed by paparazzi arriving in the city on Wednesday, August 19).
Gigi recently shared photos of the fully furnished $5.8M+ Noho apartment where she and Malik are living—the place she “spent all of last year designing and curating,” she wrote, calling it “my passion project / dream spot.”

A source told E! last week that Gigi’s mother Yolanda and sister Bella are with them. (Bella has her own $6.1 million apartment in Soho.)
The source added that Gigi’s pregnancy has been really good for her and Zayn. The on-off couple got back together at the end of last year, shortly before Gigi became pregnant. “Zayn and Gigi are really excited and have been loving this experience together,” the source said. “They both are reading parenting books, have had fun planning the nursery and picking out items together. Things are going really smoothly, and they are closer as a couple more than ever.”

Gigi’s mother Yolanda has also been a huge help to Gigi through this time, a source told E! back in April. “She is so happy she’s with her mom through all of this and is learning so much about parenting,” the source said.
That source added that this experience—quarantining while pregnant at her family’s farm in Pennsylvania— has changed the way Gigi wants to live her life permanently. Gigi is “really enjoying the low-key lifestyle,” E!’s source said then, “They spend a lot of time outdoors in the open fields and have a lot of space to themselves at the house. It’s a nice change of pace, and Gigi does not want to return to a chaotic lifestyle.”
Gigi recently shared a photo gallery of shots from her summer in Pennsylvania. There’s sunset and sky pictures and several shots of the food she enjoyed and made during her time there, including cinnamon rolls and homemade sushi.

She also explained during an Instagram Live in July why she chose not to post photos of her pregnancy.
“Obviously I think a lot of people are confused why I’m not sharing more but like, I’m pregnant through a pandemic, like obviously my pregnancy is not the most important thing going on in the world,” she said. “That’s a reason that I felt that it’s not really something that I need to share apart from with my family and friends. Obviously a lot of people have lost lives due to coronavirus that was in the beginning of quarantine and still happening. And then we moved obviously into the reemergence of the BLM [Black Lives Matter] movement, and I thought that our presence on social media should be used for that.”
“I have been taking a lot of pictures of my bump and sending it to friends and family and it’s been very cute and exciting and I’m trying to document it well because I’ve heard a lot of people say obviously make sure you don’t miss it,” she continued. “And I will be sharing stuff like that in the future. I just am not rushed to do it, and I feel like right now I just want to experience it ,and I write in my journal a lot, and I just don’t want to worry about waking up everyday during my pregnancy and like worry about having to like look cute or post something and like so, a lot of questions were about that and I just wanted to do that.”
