Gigi Hadid’s mother Yolanda Hadid broke her silence on reports her daughter Gigi is pregnant to Dutch celebrity news TV show RTL Boulevard. RTL Boulevard posted Yolanda’s statement on its Instagram yesterday and in the Dutch article that ran on its site, reports that Yolanda told them that Gigi is due in September. TMZ reported earlier this week that Gigi is about 20 weeks along in her pregnancy and that she is having a girl. Gigi’s boyfriend Zayn Malik is the father. Gigi and Zayn have not confirmed the pregnancy reports themselves or made any comment on social media.
Yolanda told RTL Boulevard that she was “still shocked our little secret got leaked to the press. Of course we are so excited. I’m excited to become Oma in September, especially after I lost my mom so recently. But this is the beauty of life, one soul leaves us, and a new one comes in. We feel very blessed.”
Gigi’s father Mohamed Hadid was less direct when asked about Gigi’s pregnancy during an Instagram Live interview. “Normally I don’t talk about family affairs in the public, so let’s leave it alone for now,” he told Al Jadeed TV yesterday, according to Us Weekly. “I have to get used to a lot of things, so let’s keep that conversation for the next time.”
Mohamed added that he has “not spoken to” Gigi since the pregnancy reports came out. “Let me digest it and talk to her first ‘cause I’m not sure if it’s real or not,” he said. “If she is, I’ll be very happy just as long as the baby is healthy, and she’s healthy. That’s all I care [about]. I’ll be very proud of her if she has one. As of now, I’m not sure, so that’s why I can’t give an answer.”
