Dakota Johnson is one of the faces of Gucci’s new Beloved Late-Night campaign, out today. Ahead of that campaign launch, Johnson attended the digital screening of Gucci Aria this week in a stunning all-Gucci spring outfit put together by her stylist Kate Young.
Johnson wore Gucci’s sheer lace floral Overture jumpsuit over tulle GG-embroidered underwear. She finished off the look with a short-sleeved, cropped pink-sequined cardigan by the brand. It literally added a little razzle-dazzle glitz to the look.
Johnson has kept a relatively low profile this year, although she was just cast in Netflix’s modern-day adaptation of Jane Austen’s Persuasion.
Last May, Johnson spoke to Marie Claire about her mental health journey, particularly during the coronavirus pandemic’s early days. “I’m constantly thinking about the state of the world right now. It keeps me up at night, all night, every night,” she admitted. “My brain goes to crazy dark places with it.”
“My brain moves at a million miles per minute. I have to do a lot of work to purge thoughts and emotions, and I am in a lot of therapy,” she said.
Johnson has been working on her mental health since her teen years. “I’ve struggled with depression since I was young—since I was 15 or 14,” she said. “That was when, with the help of professionals, I was like, Oh, this is a thing I can fall into. But I’ve learned to find it beautiful because I feel the world. I guess I have a lot of complexities, but they don’t pour out of me. I don’t make it anyone else’s problem.”
