Carrie Underwood Reacts to 15-Year Anniversary of ‘American Idol’ Win

Back in 2005, a then-21-year-old Carrie Underwood won the fourth season of American Idol. She went on to become one of the show’s most successful artists and one of the biggest female country artists in the U.S. Underwood was feeling nostalgic this weekend and reflected on her journey. A Carrie Underwood fan account shared a video it created in tribute to the 15-year anniversary of her American Idol victory.

“Today 15 years ago your world and ours were forever changed @carrieunderwood,” the fan account wrote. “We are so thankful you didn’t have your dad turn the car around! Happy ‘Idol-versary’ Heres a little something from us, ‘whenever you remember’ we’ll be there always.”

Underwood retweeted their tribute and wrote, “WOW, I cannot believe it’s been 15 years since my @americanidol win!!! It’s been an incredible ride and I couldn’t have made it through without all of you guys!! THANK YOU so much for this sweet video!!”

Underwood marked the 10-year anniversary of her win by posting a photo of herself from the finale on her Instagram. “So hard to believe it’s been 10 years! I’m forever grateful to American Idol for changing my life! #blessed,” she wrote then.
