Billie Eilish came to the Grammys dressed to capture everyone’s attention tonight. The 18-year-old singer, who is nominated for six awards, wore a green and black Gucci suit accessorized with earrings and gloves. She also wore her nails long and painted in a matching green.
Eilish is nominated for Record of the Year (“Bad Guy”), Album of the Year (When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?), Song of the Year (“Bad Guy”), Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance (“Bad Guy”), and Best Pop Vocal Album (When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?). She is also set to perform this evening.
Eilish spoke to ELLE this fall about how her star power is fueled by her family and their support of her. Eilish works with her older brother, Finneas O’Connell, to create music, and they made her album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? in their parents’ house. “I’m lucky to have a family that I like, and that likes me,” she said. “The only reason I do what I do is because my parents didn’t force me. If they’d said, ‘Here’s a guitar, here’s a microphone, sing and write,’ I would have been like, ‘Goodbye! I’m gonna go do drugs.’
“You can’t get mad at kids, bro,” she continued. “People have some shitty families. I’m kinda shocked my parents are still together. I’m not at all trying to brag—I’m just trying to say, I feel for the people who don’t have a family that wants them to be happy in their lives.”
