Ariana Grande chose to go public with her private relationship for a good cause. The singer released her and Justin Bieber’s single “Stuck With U” at midnight. The music video featured footage of her, Bieber, and other fans and celebrities (including Kendall and Kylie Jenner) in quarantine. Grande’s boyfriend Dalton Gomez made a low-key appearance with her at the end, dancing with her and kissing her. Bieber’s shots were mostly with his wife Hailey Baldwin, as to be expected with the couple who now has a Facebook Watch show documenting their relationship in quarantine.
The singers noted at the end of the video that “all net proceeds from the sales and streams of Stuck With U will fund grants and scholarships for children of first responders who have been impacted by COVID-19 in partnership with the First Responders Children’s Foundation.” So it’s a philanthropic unveiling of Gomez and Grande’s relationship.
Gomez and Grande were first reported to be dating in late March, although they were first seen kissing around Valentine’s Day. Gomez is a Los Angeles real estate agent.
Grande did not comment on the news or confirm it until now. People was told by a source that the initial silence was deliberate; she was trying to keep things more private as she and Gomez quarantine together.
Grande “has been with the same group of people for days,” the outlet’s source said on March 25. “One of the people she is with right now is Dalton—they have been hanging out for a couple of months. Ariana doesn’t want to do another public relationship so she is trying to keep this one quiet, but she seems very happy with Dalton.”
Grande also admitted last month on her Instagram Story, when responding to Florence Pugh’s video defending her relationship with Zach Braff, that she was purposely keeping her love life more private because of online harassment she had received in the past. “Sharing special, personal life things that make u happy on the internet can be truly traumatic,” Grande said. “I know I’ve taken a step back from doing so to protect my loved ones and myself but I just wanted to share this and let u know how perfectly u expressed this and how appreciated u are for doing so @florencepugh.”
