“My skin type is generally dry,” Yara divulges. “I also just had a baby a few months ago, so that really takes a lot out of you, especially if you breastfeed and everything. … I wanna make sure I’m using products that give me the most bang for my buck and that are fixing problems that you have post-pregnancy.”
When you’re pregnant, Yara explains, it’s hard to maintain a thorough skin care routine. “There’s really not much you can do while you’re pregnant,” she says. “You can’t do major treatments. You can’t use really strong active ingredients.”
Yara begins her routine with oil-based products, using Farmacy’s Green Clean Cleansing Balm and Banila Co.’s Clean It Zero. She also uses a super-secret cleansing water gifted to her by a friend who works as a cosmetic formulator. “She sent me this and she didn’t want me to judge it whatsoever,” Yara says, holding up the anonymous bottle. “I’ve obviously been using a lot of it, so I can’t wait to tell you guys what it is because I don’t even know.”
