Silgan Dispensing unveils ERA, a fresh series of cosmetic delivery mechanisms crafted completely from plastic to enable total recyclability. Showcased as a tube pump, ERA fulfills sustainability ambitions and top-tier performance standards.
The ERA mechanism is built upon Silgan’s exclusive LifeCycle technology, substituting metal springs with plastic parts, thus simplifying the recycling process.
The PE (polyethylene) pump is featured alongside a PE tube, while the closure can be fabricated from PE or PP (polypropylene), both of which are also recyclable. PCR [1] post-consumer resin possibilities are likewise on offer. Silgan handles production in collaboration with Albéa and CTL Pack for the tubes.

Based on research undertaken by the manufacturer, 61% of consumers questioned consider this tube pump design to be more upscale compared to conventional pump dispensers.
Addressing this expectation, ERA delivers remarkably fluid operation for accurate dosage and attains a discharge rate exceeding 95%, aiding in the reduction of product spoilage. The system is well-suited for skincare, sun care, cosmetic, and hair care uses, encompassing natural and preservative-free formulas.
“Silgan pioneers a novel pump engine approximately every three decades, making ERA a notable advancement that necessitated five years of progress,” states Sophie Thiolas, Global Marketing Director for Beauty at Silgan Dispensing.
Large-scale manufacturing of ERA is planned to commence in November 2026.
