King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla have chosen this year’s Christmas card.
Buckingham Palace shared a new image of the royal couple’s holiday message this afternoon. The elegant card is simply decorated with a crest embossment and a dark red border, which wraps around an portrait of the smiling pair. In the picture, which was taken by Samir Hussein at the Braemar Games last September, the queen consort wears a green dress coat with red piping and a matching hat topped with a multicolored feather, while the king is dressed in a neutral plaid suit jacket and a white, green, and gold tie.
"Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and New Year," the card reads.

This year marks the pair’s first holiday season as king and queen consort, after they stepped into their new roles as reigning monarchs following Queen Elizabeth II’s death. Next year, they will take part in their official coronation on May 6, 2023, where they will be crowned together at Westminster Abbey.
Buckingham Palace previously announced the coronation date and details last October. BAZAAR.com understands that the king’s coronation will retain the same core religious elements present in previous coronations, but that the ceremony will draw back on the opulence in order to reflect "the spirit of our times."
With the U.K. in the midst of a cost of living crisis and approaching a recession, sources told BAZAAR.com that there has been an emphasis on keeping costs down and appearing "less fussy." King Charles will have less outfit changes than previous monarchs, and the length of the ceremony will be reduced to just one hour.
"The coronation will reflect the monarch’s role today and look toward the future, while being rooted in long-standing traditions and pageantry," a spokesperson said.
