The Duke and Duchess Of Sussex’s son, Archie, made a special appearance in Prince Harry and Oprah’s new Apple TV mental health docuseries, The Me You Can’t See. In the footage, the family is enjoying a day at the beach as Meghan Markle and Archie play with their two dogs, Guy and Pula. Archie then grabs the dog ball thrower and stumbles towards his dad, walking through Harry’s legs.
During the scene, Harry said in voiceover, “If you’ve been through something, that doesn’t mean that your kids or that everybody else has to go through the same thing that everybody you’ve been through. I know that it’s my responsibility and my duty to break that cycle.”
In another clip, Archie is seen swinging with his father at their Montecito, CA home. In the clip, Harry remembered one of Archie’s first words was “Grandma Diana.” In the docuseries, Harry said, “I got a photo of her in his nursery, and it was one of the first words that he said — apart from ‘mama,’ ‘papa,’ it was then ‘grandma.’ Grandma Diana.” He continued, “It’s the sweetest thing, but at the same time, it makes me really sad because she should be here.”
Harry later revealed his wish for his mother. “I wish she could’ve met Meghan. I wish she was around for Archie.”
“Yeah, I have no doubt that my mum would be incredibly proud of me. I’m living the life that she wanted to live for herself, living the life that she wanted us to be able to live,” he continued. “So not only do I know that she’s incredibly proud of me, but that she’s helped me get here. And I’ve never felt her presence more as I have done over the last year.”
In a February interview with James Corden, he talked about Archie and his first words. “My son is just over a year and a half. He is hysterical. He’s got the most amazing personality. He’s already putting three or four words together; he’s already singing songs,” he said. He also proudly revealed that Archie’s first word was “‘crocodile,’ three syllables.”
