Although they seem to spend a good deal of time in the city, Hadid and Malik plan to raise their daughter in the country. In an interview with Vogue, Hadid said she wants to give Khai the kind of childhood she had in the country.
“I think she’ll definitely be raised here,” Gigi said. “The greenery and the farm-y lifestyle are similar to what made me feel really centered as a kid, and I think that’s really important to Zayn and me. I think that just giving your child the opportunity to explore different interests is such a beautiful thing.”

In the same interview, Hadid spoke about her and Malik’s decision to keep their daughter’s face off of social media.
“I have friends who are public figures and that’s how they’ve gone about it, and I see their kids really blossom in a different way,” she said, in reference to Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, who are parents to three daughters, James, Inez, and Betty.
Gigi’s sister Bella told Vogue why she thinks her sister has made the choice to keep her child out of the public eye: “I think she wants to be real online, but until her child wants to be in the spotlight and can make the decision herself, she doesn’t want to put her in that position.”
