Simple, timeless outline, where the key emphasis is on color. Back in the 2010s, I owned a cardigan in a vibrant, verdant tone with metallic fastenings. My grandma spotted it at a thrift shop and ceremoniously gifted it to me. Now I realize that I inherited from her a passion for vintage shops and striking items. Luckily, current fashion currents favor saturated hues. One of the most desired shades this autumn is scarlet, and style icons are already showcasing cardigans in this color. The only question left is what to pair it with this season.

Blanca Miro was snapped by a street photographer during the recent Fashion Week in a boho-inspired ensemble, the striking pieces of which were wooden platform clogs, a leopard-patterned coat, a studded belt, and a scarlet cardigan with a high neckline, fastened only at the top. Two other street style mavens were observed in slightly more subdued combinations: with a textured white midi skirt and baggy gray trousers and a white turtleneck. What made their ensembles also unforgettable? The fact that they were wearing a red cardigan.

On the autumn-winter runways, designers showcased cardigans in rich red tones that fully immerse you in the seasonal atmosphere of burgundy and chocolate. Yet, street style enthusiasts continue to opt for peak vibrancy.

How can you style a red cardigan to ensure its boldness feels suitable? With a basic bottom, like straight jeans with cuffed hems, brown trousers and sneakers, or lengthy skirts. Layering with a red cardigan might be excessive, so stick to a jacket on top or a simple T-shirt underneath.
