Hailey Baldwin didn’t let all of awards season go by without one appearance from her—but her husband Justin Bieber opted not to join. Baldwin came out for the Vanity Fair Oscar after party this evening, posing alone on the red carpet in a sheer black dress with a high leg slit. Had Bieber gone with her, it would’ve been their first time attending the event as a couple.
What was the Biebs up to? He posted several Instagram Stories that night and a grid post from his couch. He was in a reflective state, talking about his journey and encouraging other people to share their stories of how they’ve changed:
TMZ reports that later, Bieber was sported out playing hockey with friends…in New York City’s Central Park’s Wollman Rink. Bieber remained on the East Coast after performing SNL Saturday. Baldwin went to Los Angeles.
Baldwin and Bieber have only done one red carpet together, at the premiere of Seasons, Bieber’s YouTube documentary series.
Baldwin’s solo appearance comes days after Baldwin’s interview with ELLE came out, where the model spoke about her and Bieber’s marriage. Her friends, by the way, poke fun at her sometimes for how lovey the Biebers act around her. “Oh my gosh. It’s endless,” Baldwin said. “We’ll get on the phone with each other and be all cute and annoying, doing baby talk, and my friends will be in my ear like, ‘Uhh, I literally want to puke. I hate you guys.’ ” She laughed. “I was the third wheel for quite some time with a lot of my friends, so I don’t feel bad.”
She also explained poignantly what made her so sure about marrying Bieber when they started dating again in June 2018. They got married in September 2018 and engaged in July 2018. “He had grown up so much,” she said. “I was actually shocked. I think I had grown up a lot, too. He was somebody I’d always cared about so deeply and loved very deeply. Obviously, it took work and getting past things between the two of us, but it was all very worth it. He’s an incredible, amazing man and such a good partner to go through life with. There is no one else I would have ever wanted to spend my life with except him. So, I’m lucky.”
