Back in 2018, the internet fell head over heels for Noah Centineo when he graced our laptop screens as Peter Kavinsky, Lara Jean’s adorable crush in the Netflix romance To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.
But today, there’s another man vying for Lara Jean’s heart. The much-anticipated sequel To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You follows what happens when one of Lara Jean’s former crushes, John Ambrose McClaren (played by Jordan Fisher), responds to one of her old love letters and suddenly arrives back in her life again.
So, who is this new man entering our beloved To All the Boys universe? Below, everything you need to know about Jordan Fisher.
He’s an accomplished performer.
Fisher is a 25-year-old actor and singer who you’ve probably already seen onscreen. On TV, he played Jacob in The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Holden Dippledorf on Disney’s Liv and Maddie. He also played Seacat in the Disney Channel Original Movie Teen Beach Movie.
He’s also participated in two live musical television performances, playing Doody in Fox’s Grease: Live, which aired in 2016, and Mark in Fox’s Rent: Live, which aired in 2019.
Back in 2016, Fisher released an EP featuring four songs.
He’s a triple threat.
Fisher won the 25th season of Dancing With the Stars along with his partner Lindsay Arnold in 2017. He then went on to host Dancing With the Stars: Juniors in 2018.
The Associated Press reports that Fisher also trained as a gymnast and plays piano, guitar, harmonica, drums, and the French horn. He’s taken his skills to Broadway, where he played John Laurens and Philip Hamilton in the musical Hamilton. In January 2020, he took on the titular role in the Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen.
He’s engaged to his childhood best friend.
Fisher proposed to his now-fiancée Ellie Woods in May 2019. According to People, the two met when Fisher was 13 and were best friends growing up. Fisher proposed to Woods in their hometown of Birmingham, Alabama.
He’s open about his mental health.
In an episode of Dancing With the Stars, Fisher shared that he was adopted by his maternal grandmother and grandfather after his mom, who was 16 when she gave birth to Fisher, struggled with substance abuse. “It saved my life,” he said.
In an interview with the New York Post, Fisher said he’s dealt with anxiety and depression throughout his life and goes to therapy regularly.
He’s friends with Noah Centineo in real life.
In that same Post interview, Fisher revealed that he’s friends with Centineo off-screen. “We’re homies. If you’re really good friends with somebody outside of set, it’s so much easier to have a tiff [on-screen],” he said of the Peter-John Ambrose rivalry. He also admitted that he’s a Lara Jean and Peter stan: “I think that they’re a precious couple.”
