Us Weekly got rare details this week on how Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s son Archie’s first Christmas was with his parents in Canada…and how the seven-month-old’s personality is developing. He still seems pretty extroverted, and he got some great toys from his parents this year.
“You can tell Archie’s going to be a confident social butterfly,” a source told the outlet. “He loves being entertained and interacting with people. Some children get shy or nervous around new people, but not Archie. He’ll go to anyone without kicking up a fuss!”
Archie got to spend his holidays with Meghan, Harry, his grandmother Doria Ragland, and his parents’ friends, including Jessica Mulroney, Us detailed. He got lots of presents too, although they weren’t anything too crazy.
“Archie is Meghan and Harry’s world, and they can’t help [but spoil him],” Us’s source said. “For Christmas, they bought him books, building blocks, a baby ball pit. …It’s not all about extravagant gifts for them.”
The outlet also got a little tidbit on how Kate Middleton and her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis feel about Archie. George, Charlotte, and Louis “adore” their cousin, a source said. Kate is “hoping that in the new year, the cousins will spend more time together,” the source said.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex spent their holiday abroad. The couple has been taking an extended break from royal duties that started in November. Their spokesperson confirmed ahead of Christmas that Meghan, Harry, and Archie are in Canada.
“As has been reported, Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are spending private time in Canada,” the spokesperson said. “The decision to base themselves in Canada reflects the importance of this Commonwealth country to them both. Whilst this emails confirms the country they are taking their family time in, for security reasons we will not be releasing any further details and request that their privacy is respected.”
“The Duke of Sussex has been a frequent visitor to Canada over many years, and it was also home to The Duchess for seven years before she became a member of the Royal Family. They are enjoying sharing the warmth of the Canadian people and the beauty of the landscape with their young son.”
