Watch Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher Talk About Homeschooling Their Kids

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher gave a very rare joint interview last night for Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show—and the very private couple opened up a bit about their experience homeschooling their two children, 5-year-old Wyatt and 3-year-old Dimitri. The two have gotten really into teaching and have a pretty solid hack to give them a break from parenting during the school day while still engaging their kids: They get their friends to do special Zoom sessions.

“Boy, do I appreciate teachers,” Kunis started. “I realize I’m a fantastic TA. I’m like a professional TA. This one over here, god bless it, man.”

“I like me some teaching,” Kutcher said. “We set up like a curriculum for the week, and we plan it out and figure out what the kids are going to learn like throughout the week. And so we’ve done various weeks. We’ve done a week on—the first week was like energy and electricity. And then we did how to build things, architecture, and building.”

“Wait, the one thing we did do that I feel like is a good hack is we enlisted our friends to do like 20-minute Zoom sessions with our kids,” Kunis chimed in. “Be like, teach our kids anything. And it can be anything from like making flower arrangements to architecture to like anything. And so that gives us 20 minutes of not parenting and also allows our kids to have another type of interaction.”

“And it works really well with people who are like single and they’re at home, they’re alone,” Kutcher said. “They don’t have kids that they’re chasing around all day. So they’ve got a free 20 minutes, 30 minutes, and the kids just engage in them. And so we did one architecture lesson, we did one energy lesson-“

“Cookies, we baked cookies,” Kunis added.

“We baked cookies for one, we did a flower arrangement for one,” Kutcher said.

“We’ve abused all of our friends. We’re like who’s next?” Kunis said. “But we piggyback off of our kids’ curriculum. I don’t want to take away—their schools are amazing at helping the parents during the week.”

The two spoke more about their schooling and really opened up about how they started their quarantine wine business that has since taken off. Watch the full interview below:
