Aniston is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her work on The Morning Show. The award will be announced later tonight.

Consider the Emmys Friends reunion a tease for the bigger full cast reunion coming soonish. HBO Max is set to release an unscripted special featuring all the stars of the show. Filming of it wss postponed multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aniston last spoke about the status of the special in August, explaining that while it has been postponed again due to COVID-19, it will be worth the wait. “It’s going to be super. You know what? This has also given us more time to make it even more exciting and more fun than it would have been,” she told Variety. “So I choose to see it as the glass is half-full that it got postponed. Look, we’re not going anywhere. You’re never going to get rid of Friends, sorry. You’re suck with us for life guys.”

She added that “unfortunately it’s very sad that we had to move it again,” but that she is looking forward to filming it when it’s safe to do so. “It was, ‘How do we do this with live audiences?’ This is not a safe time. Period. That’s the bottom line. It’s not a safe time to do it.”
