Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom welcomed their first child together, Daisy Bloom, at the end of August. Over the weekend, Perry was photographed out for the first time since giving birth to her daughter. While it isn’t the first photo of Perry since Daisy arrived (Perry shared her own selfie of her postpartum body on her Instagram), it offers a rare look at Perry’s late-summer style. Perry wore a green caftan with pink embroidery, matching green slides, and a straw visor as she shopped in Montecito, California. She of course wore a mask, as the coronavirus pandemic remains very much ongoing.
A witness spoke to E! about Perry’s trip out. “On Saturday morning, Katy went out shopping at Pierre LaFond and Wendy Foster. She picked up food, drinks and some home furnishings while she was out,” the witness said. “She bought pillows, blankets and some baskets at Wendy Foster.” She also got two coffees, as seen in the photograph of her.
“Katy looked happy to be out and was very sweet and polite,” the source added.
Perry recently made headlines when she shared the baby gift that Taylor Swift gave her, Bloom, and their daughter on her Instagram. Swift sent a pink silk blanket with “Baby Bloom” and a pink flower hand embroidered on it. She also included a handwritten note where she wrote about how her most valuable possession as a baby was her own silk blanket.
Perry revealed that Daisy already loves it. “Miss 🌼🕊 adores her hand embroidered blankie from miss @taylorswift 😩😩😩,” Perry captioned the post. “hope it’s one she drags around for years till it becomes an unrecognizable shred that she keeps in her pocket as a teenager 🥺♥️”
