Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor briefly shared the spotlight with his parents on their new Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan.
Never-before-seen video footage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s three-year-old son was included in the new show, which takes a documentarian lens to explore the challenges and obstacles that led the Sussexes from stepping down as senior members of the royal family.
In the clip, which you can watch here, Archie excitably runs down a dirt road with the family’s dog, a black lab named Pula, where he watches donkeys grazing behind a fence.
In a voiceover, Harry reflects on the pressures of parenthood as a member of the royal family and as a dad to mixed-race children. (The couple welcomed their daughter, Lilibet Diana, in June 2021.)
"My son, my daughter, my children are mixed race. And I’m really proud of that," Harry says. "When my kids grow up and they look back at this moment and they turn to me and say, What did you do in this moment? I want to be able to give them an answer."
He adds, "I think it’s such a responsibility as human beings that if you bring a small person into this world, that you should be doing everything you can to make the world a better place for them."

Meghan previously reflected on the role Harry plays in their son’s life in the season finale of her Spotify podcast, Archetypes.
"I wrote a children’s book that came out a year ago or a couple years ago, and it’s basically about this softer side of masculinity and how I’ve seen my husband as a dad and the example of that," she said, referring to her New York Times best seller, The Bench. "That that’s the person that the young boy can look to and say, ‘Oh, this is what it means to be a man. This is the example of that. That’s the person that I can go to when I’m crying. That’s the person that will sit with me. That’s the person that can put the Band-Aid on my knee.’ And that that level of being nurtured can come from a male figure in your life just as much as it can from a female figure."
