Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie Prove They’re Style Mavens in Plaid Winter Coats

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie just showed off their differing styles by wearing two sophisticated takes on plaid.

The royal sisters made a fashion-filled appearance today at Westminster Abbey, where they are among the attendees for a holiday carol service hosted by Catherine, Princess of Wales.

Beatrice arrived hand in hand with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. She cut an elegant figure in a white double-breasted and belted trench coat, which was emblazoned with a thin black plaid pattern all over. She styled the coat with black suede stiletto pump boots, a black croc-embossed clutch, and silver drop earrings.

Eugenie arrived soon after with her husband, Jack Brooksbank. She, too, wore a plaid winter coat, though her camel iteration included a coffee-colored houndstooth pattern on the sleeves and a fun fringe hem. Underneath, the royal paired the statement piece with a black top and knee-high black stiletto boots. Other accessories included a black clutch and small gold hoop earrings.

Today’s event, which marks the second year in a row that the Princess of Wales has hosted a community holiday carol service at Westminster Abbey, plans to pay homage to the late Queen Elizabeth II, who died at 96 years old this past September.

"The carol service will celebrate and showcase the joy that human connection can bring: forging friendships and strengthening communities, creating legacies of humility and kindness, whilst also providing relief and comfort in times of difficulty or loss. The service will combine both traditional and modern elements, reaching people of all faiths and none," a press release from Kensington Palace reads.
