Even Beyoncé is an avid supporter of the Duchess of Sussex.
In the final episode of Harry & Meghan, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s new Netflix docuseries detailing their love story and their decision to leave royal life behind, Meghan reveals that she received a very special text message from Beyoncé herself the day after the couple’s bombshell 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The televised conversation was one of the most watched moments of the year and marked the first time the couple had spoken out about their decision to step down as senior royals and the immense scrutiny Meghan endured as a new member of the royal family.
Meghan first met Beyoncé back in 2019 at the United Kingdom premiere of The Lion King, where she and Harry were photographed alongside the pop singer and her husband, rapper Jay-Z.
"Beyoncé just texted," Meghan casually tells Harry in the documentary, to which Harry replies with a cheeky gasp. "’Just checking in.’ I still can’t believe she knows who I am!"

Meghan continues to read the text message aloud to Harry. "She said she wants me to feel safe and protected. She admires and respects my bravery and vulnerability and thinks I was selected to break generational curses that need to be healed," the duchess says of the singer’s text.
The duchess also details why she and Harry decided to sit down with Oprah in the first place, explaining that a year into their life in the States, she felt it was time to connect the dots for the public as to why leaving royal life was imperative to their survival as a family.
"That interview, it was less about setting the record straight than at least filling in the blanks that other people were filling in for us," Meghan says. "Whatever we were creating and whatever new path we were trying to forge, you couldn’t really do that without some clarity."
