Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Jack Quaid, and Henry Golding will be seen with her onscreen.
American actress Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is making an official comeback to cinema. Following an eight-year break, she is once more taking a leading role in a film — this time in the comedy Close Personal Friends, which Amazon MGM Studios is producing. The movie is currently being filmed in Pasadena, California. As per People, Meghan will play herself in the movie. She was seen on location on November 5.

Meghan's previous acting part was as attorney Rachel Zane in the successful show Suits, which she departed in 2017 after becoming engaged to Prince Harry. She declared at the time that she was stepping away from performing to concentrate on charitable and media endeavors. Notably, she established the Archewell Foundation with her spouse and has also created numerous documentary endeavors for Netflix. Furthermore, in 2025, Meghan debuted as the presenter of the program With Love, Meghan, which debuted on Netflix in March and is readying a festive special.

Even with prior remarks that she was “finished with acting,” involvement in Close Personal Friends signifies the Duchess of Sussex’s return to her primary vocation. According to sources, the role, though minor, is vital for her career persona – it presents a chance to be seen again in front of the camera as a self-sufficient woman charting her own course. The movie’s release date is still pending, but it is anticipated to hit theaters in 2026.
