Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Joined the Queen at Church This Morning

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been in the U.K. this past week, where they have been fulfilling the remainder of their royal duties. Last night, Meghan wore a red cape dress to the Mountbatten Festival of Music, where she and Harry matched in red. On Sunday morning, Meghan and Harry joined Queen Elizabeth at church in Windsor.

“It was a really sweet gesture that the Queen asked them to church,” a source told People. “It’s telling in the sense that these two are still her family. And as a family, they all love each other.”

In January, the Queen issued a statement about her feelings on Harry and Meghan’s royal exit.

“Following many months of conversations and more recent discussions, I am pleased that together we have found a constructive and supportive way forward for my grandson and his family. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved members of my family. I recognize the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life. I want to thank them for all their dedicated work across this country, the Commonwealth and beyond, and am particularly proud of how Meghan has so quickly become one of the family. It is my whole family’s hope that today’s agreement allows them to start building a happy and peaceful new life.”

In addition to yesterday’s Mountbatten festival, Harry and Meghan are sticking around London for the Commonwealth Day Westminster Abbey ceremony on Monday. Once they finish their events, the couple is expected to return to Canada, where their son, Archie, is waiting.
